What is staunTEENS?

staunTEENS is a news blog for local teenagers in the Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County areas. While serving these local interests, staunTEENS also hopes to look into stories in a more international light as well- going beyond what's said in major headlines, explaining major world events, and offering a unique perspective on local, national, and international events: the perspective of a teenager.

Major "sections" to this news blog will include, but are certainly not limited to...

Local events
-from speakers to guests to school changes to carnivals, this is anything happening in the local community

Issue focus
-this is meant to bring bigger world issues and try to give basic understanding of them, and then provide resources for the readers (if interested) to seek out more

Our Perspective
-similar to the issue focus, only this expands and shows how this affects teenagers directly

My Kind of News
   - this is the more fun section of the news: random information that will make you laugh, or simply find interesting

My Life
-this section is related to stories that will directly impact your life. Applying for vocational tech school or the Governor's school? What are the new rules on snow days? Is Facebook making a huge change? This is an assortment of news that impacts you the most.

The sections are designated by their tags. If there is a certain section in particular you are interested in reading, scroll down to the side bar labeled "Topics" and click on the section of interest.

Also, there's a page called One-Bite News. This page is meant to have small random facts that might be of interest to you, but aren't a full article on the site. This page is meant to keep you up to date in a quick and easy way, and is frequently updated.
